China International Occupational Safety & Health Goods Expo | Labor Protection Equipment Safeguarding Workers’ Health
The China International Occupational Safety & Health Goods Expo has learned that the China Academy of Safety Science and Technology (CASST) is focusing on occupational hazard pain points across various industries, launching multiple self-developed protective technologies and equipment. Through technological innovation, it is strengthening the foundation of occupational health protection and facilitating industry-wide safety upgrades.
Addressing the challenge of mine vehicle exhaust pollution, CASST's developed explosion-proof diesel vehicle exhaust CO high-efficiency elimination device has been successfully deployed. The equipment can reduce carbon monoxide by over 85%, with stable long-term operational performance. This device converts harmful gases through low-temperature catalytic technology while simultaneously filtering pollutants such as dust and nitrogen oxides, showing no performance degradation after six months of continuous use. Currently, the equipment has been promoted to over 500 units across more than 30 large domestic energy enterprises, effectively mitigating the risk of harmful gas poisoning for underground workers.
Ventilation protection technology adapted to extreme and special working conditions has achieved multi-scenario deployment. The academy's self-developed thermal-pressure-driven comprehensive ventilation system, following its application in extremely cold mining areas, has completed installation at a high-altitude mining site in Tibet at an elevation of 4,580 meters. This system specifically addresses occupational hazards such as high temperatures, dust, and odors in mineral processing workshops, aligning with national factory ventilation standards. After years of field verification, it has proven effective in reducing workshop temperatures, dust concentrations, and harmful odor levels. With its outstanding protective performance, it has been successfully selected for the national advanced technology and equipment catalog for occupational disease prevention.
Addressing the difficulty of dust control in mine crushing operations, CASST's developed gyratory crushing station fine dust purification system has successfully passed trial operation acceptance. The equipment integrates multiple technologies including gas-liquid dust washing, dry filtration, electric sealing, and blow-suction air curtains, precisely managing high-intensity dust generation. It effectively controls silicosis hazards in mines, significantly reducing dust exposure risks for frontline workers, and establishing an efficient and comprehensive workshop dust removal system.
In the field of personal protective equipment, the academy's innovatively developed KN100 cascade filtration dust protection mask has been purchased in bulk by multiple industrial and mining enterprises. Addressing the shortcomings of traditional masks that are prone to clogging and have high breathing resistance, the new product adopts a cascade filtration design, doubling the filter cartridge service life while offering lower inhalation resistance. All protective and visibility indicators exceed national standards, balancing high protective performance with wearing comfort, and is adapted to high-dust mining operation scenarios.
Additionally, the nation's first gravimetric oscillating balance dust concentration measuring instrument has been incorporated into the national health administrative law enforcement standard equipment. This instrument overcomes the drawbacks of traditional detection methods that are lagging and inefficient. It can monitor dust concentrations in real time and automatically calculate worker exposure data, adapting to multiple industries including mining, building materials, and grain storage. It has been widely applied in enterprise production monitoring and regulatory enforcement work.
Beyond hardware protection equipment, the academy's non-contact physical and mental health rapid monitoring system continues to be upgraded, with medical-grade detection capabilities being refined through clinical testing. Relying on optical and AI technologies, the equipment can rapidly screen workers’ physiological indicators and psychological stress, achieving pre-shift risk warnings. It is now widely applied in industrial and mining operations, power grids, emergency recruitment, and other scenarios, comprehensively safeguarding workers' dual physical and mental health.
